Radioactive Rod Sources

Beta and Gamma Sources Available

radioactive rod source for checking well scintillation detectors

Beta and Gamma radiation rod sources are designed for use in well detectors or clinical instruments. Each source is constructed with an acrylic rod and is offered in two sizes: 0.375 in. x 5.0 in. and 0.5 in. x 5.0 in. The source material is deposited in the bottom of the well located at the end of the rod and sealed with epoxy. A protective cap is placed over the epoxy plug. All beta and gamma radiation rod sources have an uncertainty of ± 20% of the labeled activity. A secondary calibration, yieling  ± 5% is available at additional cost. Activities are NRC Exempt. Beta sources are not available for calibration
