Model 44-17 Low Energy Gamma Scintillator

The Model 44-17 is a low energy gamma scintillator with a 2" X 2mm NaI(Tl) crystal that can be used with several different instruments including survey meters, scalers, ratemeters, and alarm ratemeters

SCINTILLATOR: 2" (5.1 cm) diameter X 2mm thick sodium iodide (NaI)Tl scintillator
RECOMMENDED ENERGY RANGE: Approximately 10 - 200 keV
BACKGROUND: Typically 140 cpm/microR/hr
EFFICIENCY(4pi geometry): Typically 20% - I-125
ENERGY RESPONSE: Energy dependent
COMPATIBLE INSTRUMENTS: General purpose survey meters, ratemeters, and scalers
TUBE: 1.5:(3.8cm) diameter magnetically shielded photomultiplier
OPERATING VOLTAGE: Typically 500 - 1200 volts

CONSTRUCTION: Aluminum housing with beige polyurethane enamel paint
